The publication

Editorial standards

What readers can expect from us, and how to hold us to it.

Independence

Our journalism is decided by our editors alone. Advertisers, sponsors and partners have no say over what we cover or how.

Separating news from commerce

Advertising is marked “Advertisement”. Content paid for by a partner is marked “Partner content” and names the partner. Where we have a commercial relationship with a company mentioned in an article, we say so in that article.

Not advice

We explain markets; we do not tell readers what to buy or sell, and we do not predict returns. The Gold Brief provides general market information and education. It is not financial advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any investment. Prices are indicative and may be delayed. The value of gold can fall as well as rise.

Accuracy and sources

We attribute facts and figures to their source and link to it where possible. Prices are indicative and may be delayed.

Automation

The daily Brief is drafted with the help of AI from public price data and published headlines, under strict rules: factual, educational, no recommendations and no named products. Signed articles are written and edited by people.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the correction at the foot of the article. Write to [contact@thegoldbrief.org].
